Basketball Recruiting Megathread 1.0 has run its course

It needs to stop.

it does need to stop but with 7 coming in i just can't imagine that all will be here for 4

It does need to stop, but for it to stop two things need to happen:

1) Class of 2012 will need to lose 2-3 players.

2) Jeff [Redacted] will have to do his job and recruit on an ACC level.

I know that one of the two is going to happen.

We have 6 guys that don't shoot well from distance and Tyler does but he will have to get stronger. They won't be on display this summer so whatever reports we get from Canada will have to suffice. My interest in Wake hoops is at a all time low.

If we don't win 18 regular season games next year, [Redacted] should be fired no matter what.

Even if we do, we should make a play for Shaka Smart.

I used listed heights. We don't know Greg is 6'6 without his shoes.

Those guys were also 30-50 pounds heavier than Greg is.

You've used rumored height and weight for Devin Thomas multiple times without a hint of hesitation ignoring the listed height. Why change now? Because it doesn't fit your argument?

Devin's growth has been published in multiple publications. among them are his local paper listing him at 6'9 and "Devin Thomas 6'8+, 235 (#50 in 2012 according to Bob Gibbons)"

But don't be bothered by facts. You never are.

Bottomline: Davon Reed is probably our only chance at landing a no-doubt top 100 player (obviously we could still find a late-riser like Codi).
Scout has an article up today that says Pitino is putting the heat on Reed. Preseason top 3 team w/ a HOF coach.... I'd say that decision won't be very hard to make for the kid.

I thought I remembered you saying he was up to 6'9" and 250lbs. But I just did a quick search and it seems my memory was incorrect. Apologies.

I hope Reed likes watching Anton Gill take shots for three years...

You mean that Jeff [Redacted] isn't as desirable as Rick Pitino????!?!?!??!?!?

I've been saying that (about our record) since last fall. It's nothing new.

rj has already seen the light and is BuzzOUT! now.

Without question RJ knows horses. As for hoops, this season will answer a lot of questions. So far, just me, Buzz, Chill, Battle, Rusty, Travis, CJ, the Super Seven, Chase, Wellman and a few others on the bandwagon. Plenty of room. I may be wrong, but I think we are going to surprise a lot of people.

Apologies for the optomism. Carry on.

I respect the optimism and wish I shared it. My question to you is this.... assuming the Buzz/Ron model is successful.... what does that success look like. .500 acc ? NIT? dance every five years when a class comes together? If that's your optimistic view count me and most others here bzz out. Cause thats what I see the bz low ceiling to be.

So what is your definition of "surprise a lot of people"? Give us total or ACC wins. I just want to know how far the bar as been lowered. Is average the new good?
