England team tonight: butland, walker, Jagielka, Cahill, Baines, Johnson, Carrick, Lampard, Young, Cleverley, Carroll

I was all like, "wow, that could lead to sexy football" reading thru it. Then I got to Andy Carroll and then I was all, "oh."

Read an article here today on Butland. Crazy that he's never started a real match above League 1 an he's now starting for England v Italy.

You gotta love this kid

@TBoyd91: Time to write some history tonight #USA #usavsmex

My thoughts with respect to Mexico are Fuck Mexico.

Hey, I wore my red white & blue tie today, but the facts are we're getting worse over the last year or 2, and Mexico keeps getting better. It sucks, but we are Ireland to their Spain right about now. I'm pissed about the pitiful state our men's team is in, and I don't see it improving anytime soon.

This thought and Fuck Mexico are not mutually exclusive.

Also, yes, Mexico is good and on the rise, but let's not mention Mexico and Spain in the same sentence ever again, mkay?

I am decidedly not a good person during games against Mexico.

Let me know when the Mexican National Team does something of note. U20 teams? You know who made the semifinals in 2005, 2007 and 2009? Nigeria, Morocco, Austria, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Hungary. How are those National Teams doing? Mexico is surely improving after some disastrous coaching. Can we wait until they dominate the hex or make it out of the Round of 16 before we anoint them some super team.

Agree Mexico ain't Spain. Actually, ain't nobody else Spain. My intended comparison was that we'll be to Mexico what Ireland was to Spain in the EC. Sorry for the confusion.

Fuck Mexico in their Mexican butts. Mexico FC have to be my least favorite group of currently living individuals on the planet. Worse than al Qaeda. Worse than the Black Eyed Peas. Worse than the senior management group at my company. Just the worst.

Ireland is to Spain as the US is to Mexico? Are you serious?

@FrancoPanizo:

Mexico XI vs. USMNT: Ochoa; Meza, Rodriguez (C), Moreno, Torres; Barrera, Zavala, Viniegra, Guardado; Reyna, Chicharito (via @espnsutcliffe)

@ussoccer:

#USMNT lineup for #USAvMEX: Howard (c); Johnson, Cameron, Edu, Castillo; Jones, Beckerman, Williams, Torres; Donovan, Gomez

We have a ton of clumsy tacklers and chicharito is on the field.

Gentlemen, you know what to do.

4-3-1-2?

That lineup screams "Damage control". Jurgens just going to try and keep the match as respectable as possible.

Disagree, we have two extremely offensive minded wingbacks. A narrow diamond midfield to let them run free out wide. At least that's what I'd do.
