Bball Recruiting Megathread: Devin Mitchell on campus

@ClutchREED_25
I really want to thank Wake Forests staff, players, and Winston-Salem for hosting me on a wonderful weekend. It couldn't have been better.

@ClutchREED_25
It was nice Winston-Salem. Headed back to Jersey

Doesn't look like we are getting a commitment this weekend but at least he was complimentary.

He's going home to clear everything w/ mom/dad and call the coaches from the other two schools to cancel their visits before he announces WF mid week.

(just my prediction)

My prediction: He genuinely enjoyed his visit but he wont turn down the opportunity to have a fun trip 2 more times, nor should he. Then he'll see where he stands after all 3 visits.

His offer may not be on the table after his other 2 visits. He knows Overton is visiting in a couple weeks and has to know WF won't take both.

Considering the game they just watched, I'm gonna predict we've got a lock on at least one of them.

...

I really hope we do.

What does a football game have to do with a basketball recruit? It doesn't make any difference at Duke.

Both are athletic teams. It was UNC. It was an incredible game and had an enormous contribution to their overall feelings about the visit.

Seeing a win for WF is always a plus for any recruit, regardless of sport.

How about you troll on threads that don't matter instead of mucking up threads that actually do?

I don't think Davon went to the game. Probably due to weather.

I just don't see how a victory in another sport would make much difference.

School pride, spirit, enthusiasm. And take in to account that if we're a "basketball school" and can get that fired up for a football game, a basketball recruit can project how that would feel in a Deacon uniform. Not a determining factor in making a decsion on where to play basketball, but one of many things that go into making a good experience for a recruiting visit.

6'6" SF Tyrone Outlaw, from Roxboro, committed to UNCG this weekend. According to ESPN both Wake and Duke had shown interest.

Outlaw committed to UNC Greensboro on Saturday, a significant addition for a Spartans program hoping to get back into the contention in the Big South under second-year coach Wes Miller. Not only did Outlaw hold scholarship offers from the likes of Ole Miss, St. Bonaventure and George Washington, he had also received interest from the likes of Duke, North Carolina State and Wake Forest.

RE: Outlaw - I find that very hard to believe.

While at Colorado [Redacted] went head to head with UNCG for the services of 6'10" Aloysius Henry and lost. So, it's not unprecedented for Bz to go after the same prospects that UNCG does.

CO isn't Duke. CO isn't NCSU. CO isn't Wake Forest.

Why we would have any interest in a 2* player at our deepest position?

Why would Duke EVER be interested in 2* after signing a Top 30ish player who is the same size?

Regardless. I wasn't speaking of Wake. I was speaking more of [Redacted] and his love 2*.
