Hard to believe the head coach of an NIT #8 seed may be the next coach at Wake.

And here is a quick note for when the time comes and the next coach gets us to the NIT and people try to claim it as some huge marker of success. The first thread about the NIT was posted after 2:00 am "on" Selection Sunday.

Side note....Maryland fans are going crazy about not even making the NIT! Supposedly they were the 2nd team out...not happy with Turgeon or their AD.....:D

Suck it Terps, enjoy the "numerically challenged" Big Ten!

Whether the NIT is an accomplishment or not depends upon expectations for the team each year. For a power conference team to make the NIT these days you have to be very close to making the NCAA's.

After four years of nothing, if the new coach makes an NIT run next season it will be a nice sign that things are heading in the direction.

We normally have a thread for each region of the NCAA tournament. No one has bothered has even bothered to post those yet.

Nice sign? Sure. National relevant? No. Gotta keep things in perspective.

The NIT is more relevant than you might think. Alex Schiffer is covering it with Missou and scooped Howland to Wake.
