2023 College Football Coaching Carousel

Speaking of coaches. I’ll never forget this disaster and people wonder why we have to pay half a billion to leave ACC.

Though I’m sure no coach had anything to do with that social media team decision.

What does that tweet have to do with why FSU needs to leave the ACC

The players will make a big push of Michigan to hire Sherrone Moore (the current OC and acting HC when Harbaugh was suspended).
I’m sure that the Notre Dame mediocrity since they caved to the players and did the same thing will not help this come to fruition.

That is certainly a choice, that someone could make. 34-48 Career record, 25-30 in conference, 0-3 in bowls. Though he did finish 24th in the nation in 2020, without a non-conference schedule. But hey, he was a grad assistant for 1 year at Arizona, so he has connections.

San Jose State is one of the most under-funded MWC programs. Brennan started out 3-22, and then, they went 31-25 over the past 5 seasons, which doesn't sound that great, but at SJ State, it's pretty good. Always hard to handicap coaches at lesser programs, but Brennan has a great rep.

So in negotiating with the University of Michigan, Jim Harbaugh is seeking language granting him immunity from being fired as a result of any sanctions that may come as a result of the multiple NCAA investigations floating around Ann Arbor.

With the Natty in hand, Harbaugh has the leverage. He will get whatever he requires to get a deal done.

The S. Alabama DC may be great, but not the kind of all-star staff hire that Bama usually pulls:

Who knew that the 2019 Indiana football team (DeBoer OC; Wommack DC) would be coordinating Bama football in 2024 and beyond?

He was the South Alabama head coach, not the DC. The hire makes some sense. He's coached with DeBoer. He played at Arkansas, coached at Ole Miss. He's been recruiting the South for years.

Ya, being able to pull a Division I HC (with a winning overall and conference record) and essentially demote him to a DC, seems pretty on brand for Alabama.

And on the same day, they lose rising sophomore starting safety Caleb Downs to Georgia. Downs played more snaps last season. as a true freshman, than any returning starter, including Jalen Milroe.

They lost star rising junior WR Isaiah Bond to Texas last week.

RB Justice Haynes appears inclined to stay, but it's going to be a long 25 more days assault on the Alabama roster.

Arizona currently has a $240M budget deficit and the athletic department has a hiring freeze - given that Brennan was a finalist last time the job was open, this was likely a hire made knowing that Brennan would accept for the same amount they were already spending on Fisch and his staff.

Now getting the Buffalo HC to leave one of the 130 FBS Head coaching jobs to be a DB coach is pretty impressive too.

To replace Kane Womack who is now Bama's DC, South Alabama hired Major Applewhite:

Applewhite was the HC at Houston for two seasons and went 15-11 (Cougars fired Applewhite to hire Dana Holgerson, who was just fired). After Houston canned Major, he went into coaching rehab at Bama for two years as an analyst, and Applewhite was the S. Alabama OC for the last three seasons.

Have a hard time believing this is real:
