Appy State job open, let's get the Lobo to App State campaign going!!!!

Do you really think that the athletic department are in worse shape now with Cobb, than before with Laney? Please elaborate. The stadium is transformed as well as many other sports facilities. Average attendance is around 30k, not 15k in football. Yosef contributions were up to $2.7 million this year. Men's bball sucks, women's is much better. Darcey Vincent is a Cobb hire.

Avg. attendance was 26,358 this year, leading the FCS.

How did we get an App State athletic department shill on our board? Just know that a lot of alums are not happy with how Coach Moore was let go.

I don't give a damn what went on. I don't care if Jerry Moore pissed on Cobbs shoes...he could not have handled this worse. Is Cobb still going to tout Moore's accomplishments while looking for a bigger job (that he never gets)? That will be fhttp://www.ogboards.com/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=1017615un to watch.

If ASU was a member of CUSA, it would have the second-highest attendance rate in the conference.

And after a couple of seasons in CUSA or the like App would never draw that many fans again....

All of that was built on the back of the success of the football team (Moore). Like I said earlier, it is an absolute joke that Cobb goes around interviewing for "bigger" jobs with Jerry Moore's resume in his pocket and then has the nerve to force him out / fire him.

Bingo. Give App a few years of average (at best) teams in a middling conference (at best). We would be lucky to draw 10K fans. Cobb's FBS dream is as dumb as him firing the man that built the program.

Things that would be bad for APP if they don't move up:

Three divisions develop
1) The major conferences
2) Lower D-1A conferences (the one where Wake, Duke etc. will end up)
3) 1-AA becomes third tier

Add to that fact, that the Southern Conference is becoming the conference of small, private schools. ASU is, by far, the biggest, with Georgia Southern a distant second.

Why are people so confident that APP, with 85 scholarships, wont be able to compete in the Sun Belt or CUSA or other lower FBS conference. If we move up, we wont have to stay at 60 some scholarships. I'm not confident that they will be world beaters or conference champs every year, but i'm not sure they can't either.

Has a school ever moved backwards from D-1A to D-1AA? I understand some of the resistance for not wanting to jump to 1A, but it seems like the logical step for App to go to D-1A.

Marshall says hi

I think Marshall is a better comparison. Marshall had a rich 1AA history with National Championships and an amazing following. Once they moved up to 1A/FBS they middled in a mid-major program and they have not been heard from since. I don't think they even average 12K for home games now.

They averaged 25k this year.

Also, Marshall did extremely well when they first moved up, then got hit with sanctions.
