BBall Recruiting Thread 2k18 - Hoard, Mucius, Lewis, and Wright sign NLIs!

Do you really think many of the one and dones are thinking beyond rookie contracts? Or how to elevate their game to get one? If so, more power to them.

If they aren't, it really proves Coach Manning's point in yesterday's article about one and dones.

Plenty of stories of people blowing through their rookie contract money. The lifestyle of an NBA player is not a cheap one

It's been years since rookie contracts were so astronomical that a player didn't have to worry about subsequent contracts. That was the era of Big Dog Robinson and his contemporaries. Rookie scale changed all that.

If they have a good college coach, then they are. There are a lot of scumbags in the field, but there are a lot of good coaches, too, guys who consider themselves to be mentors of young men. Once players sign with agents, then the same story holds. There are a lot of scumbags in the field, but there are a lot of good agents, too. If the 30-or-so players who are actually one and done-caliber themselves aren't thinking about life beyond a first contract, then there's a good chance that somebody in their life in a position of influence is helping them.

If you're committing to a program today of all days, you must have supreme confidence that they aren't involved in any cheating. Of course if you're a top player you would presumably know of bribery shenanigans firsthand.

ITT we marvel at 18-22 year old men making poor decisions.

Baylor in today. Head Coach Danny Manning from Wake Forest here tomorrow to see Brandon Stone and Jalen Lecque tomorrow at Christ School.

Good to see Wake still recruiting this kid. They were the first P5 school to offer last year and Lecque jumped in the rankings from a relatively unknown to the 14th best player in his class (per ESPN). Also, worth noting that he originally reclassified from '18 to '19 but there has since been some rumors that he may reclassify back to '18. Definitely worth keeping an eye one if we miss out on Ayo.

Laszewski is going to be a great college player and potentially a nice roleplayer in the pros (if he makes it). He'll be there at least 3 if not all 4 years as a huge pain in the ass every time WF plays ND.

Courtney Ramey (Top 50 PG, '18) decommitted from Louisville today. Not a bad back-up option to Ayo if Manning can get involved there.

Maybe some of these players will want to go to squeaky clean WFU.

You would think it is possible they are running away from the troubled schools, but at the same time may have rec'd $$ themselves.
