One of the few things the BzIn crowd had to hang their hats on was the idea that, coming off Dino's dismissal, Ron was obligated to give the new coach four years to prove himself. Anything less and we would have a difficult time getting a quality replacement because they would be worried about a short leash and unrealistic expectations. Does anyone really think that we could have not gotten a Manning-esque hire if (redacted) had only gotten two years?
Hell, VA Tech fired its most successful coach in recent memory, gave his replacement two years, and ended up with Buzz Williiams. Of course, their AD isn't a clown.
