NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police and fire officials are on the scene of an explosion and partial building collapse at 116th Street and Park Avenue in Upper Manhattan Wednesday morning.East Harlem residents reported hearing a large explosion in the six-story apartment building around 9:30 a.m.

That has the look and feeling of an explosion due to a gas leak.

Its been a rough couple days for two of the nation's largest fire departments. There was a massive 6+ alarm fire at a hotel under construction yesterday in San Francisco, and the SFFD lost one of their engines in the fire.

The fire in SF was insane. Was pretty close by yesterday afternoon and the smoke was incredible.
