Posted on the CT but figured it merited discussion on the Pit. Anyone else read HONY on Facebook? My wife got me into it and typically I find the stories pretty interesting and all but the series they just did in Pakistan may have been the most gut wrenching thing I've ever read. Readers donated $2MM to help this woman who is compared to Harriet Tubman for bonded laborers. She tells stories about getting shot, beat up, and basically blackballed by all the local authorities when trying to protect these workers.

I've always enjoyed HONY and these trips abroad have been really interesting. Both those beautiful parts of Pakistan that certainly aren't what I picture (#ignorantAmerican) and then this terrible brick kiln slavery stuff. I hope that money can be used fully and help end these issues.
