Herro Pit,

I know nothing of technology other than how to screenshot snapchats and thus, am left with many lingering questions. One that has always perplexed me is whether or not someone could track all of your internet history, say from years ago, without having the device you made visited the websites with. To further illustrate my question, I offer this hypothetical:

"Jim" searches for pornography on his Iphone
"Jim" then throws this Iphone into the Atlantic Ocean
Can "Irene" (or the U.S government) ever find out what "Jim" searched on his iphone?

Manifest, what kind of filthy shit were you searching for, brother?

Yeah. Basically, don't use Chrome if you are at all concerned about it. If you use gmail/chrome/google maps, Google basically knows everything about you.

lol wait, weren't you asking about TorBrowser earlier? are you trying to figure out how to join ISIS?

So i should roll with tor browser from now on? Honestly, there's nothing specific i want to find but just trying to shield myself as much as possible for future stuff. Freaks me out to think about every stupid thing I post or look at could be revealed to future employer/constituents, etc.

Don't know what field you work in, but is someone really going to delve that deeply into your activities? Assuming you're not into illegal and highly immoral shit, there are millions of people searching for scat videos or trying to buy Spice online; you're just another fish in the sea. Unless you're applying for a position in the CIA or Microsoft, I wouldn't worry too much.

Hey. That's Unix. I know this system. Despite being 13 years old and having no job other than being an annoying girl.

Herro Pit,

So a couple of considerations:
1) web traffic will show url of search (look what's in your URL address bar after the search, it has your search terms in it, this data is exposed in a packet header)
2) "incognito mode" will stop cookies and such, but the fact that your IP address hit pornserver.com is noted, and there probably aren't other users of your iphone
3) if you're on a cell network when you search, you have the added concern about the provider (like Verizon) tagging your traffic with additional unique identifiers

Dude, your typical employer is not going to try to get those kinds of records from Google, nor would Google hand those records over, so don't worry about it. The fact that in the heat of the moment you once did a google image search for "fisting dog bholes" will remain your secret.
