"A former Texas A&M linebacker has alleged that Jimbo Fisher's staff committed multiple NCAA violations early in its first offseason there. Arizona linebacker Santino Marchiol, who spent his first collegiate season at Texas A&M in 2017 before recently leaving the program, told USA Today that he was given hundreds of dollars in cash by assistant coaches to host recruits on unofficial visits, the staff conducted offseason workouts that were longer than NCAA rules allow, and the training staff mishandled his own ankle injury."

"Marchiol said that defensive coordinator Mike Elko told players of summer workouts, which are supposed to be voluntary, that "We're going to have a lot of meetings and practices that aren't technically required, but you guys have to be here because you're way behind. We need to win," according to USA Today."

That's it ?! Jimbo will have to wear flip flops for the first half against cupcake U. I'm sure those who "volunteered" will have increased PT. Those who didn't, will be welcome at another program.

Looks like the NCAA has screwed up royally with their new transfer exemption rule. Basically, a player can transfer and play immediately, if their transfer is due to extenuating circumstance, that were beyond the control of the student athlete.

So now, every kid that gets chewed out or benched, can transfer and play immediately, if they just accuse the prior school of inappropriate behavior. This kid is just the first of many such requests.

For the record, I'm not saying programs don't have issues and kids shouldn't be able to transfer and play immediately. I just think the new policy by the NCAA is a dumb way of implementing that. It gives the kids every incentive to dig up dirt on the NCAA programs.

NCAA may find that it is investigating a lot of complaints from kids who want to transfer and play immediately.
