Even though today was a great day for all Deacon fans, there is still much work to be done. It was extremely evident by today's press conference that we have a bungling, empty suit running the Athletic Department who is probably not capable of making another good hire on his own. We can all agree that Bz was not Wellman's only mistake. He has made others in the past few years including hiring Casstevens which many believe to be arguably the worst hire in the history of a department that preaches culture and integrity.
With the resignation of Bz, the Athletic Dept. would like nothing better than to spin the message that"all is well" and start the Deacon Club donations flowing again. I say, we should all stand firm by not giving and not buying season tickets until Wellman and Casstevens "resign". Realistically, it will probably take a couple of years for both basketball and football to turn the corner and be competitive and if we all continue to withhold our support, the Clown and the Crook, will be long gone before the teams gain respectability again.

Screw that. Wellman is 66 years old. He will retire in a couple of years. There's no point in sabotaging the potential success of the new football and basketball hires.

Giving to the Deacon Club and demanding Wellman's retirement (long overdue) are not mutually exclusive.
