Strong start by picking up doubles point.

#3 Maksim Kan and #4 Jon Ho take their first sets easily.
#1 Romain Bogaerts #5 Aws Laaribi take their first sets 7-5.

Win three of those 4 and we advance.

#2 Adam Lee lost his first set and #6 Anthony Delcore is still playing his first.

Took set 1 in 4 of 6 singles matches.

Up 3-1 and Bogaerts is up a set and serving at 5-0. Looking good!

winner winner.

When do we play OSU? Anyone heading to Athens next week for the tournament?

this was the first round, right?

Nice win, it looks like we have had a bit of a disappointing regular season, any tennis insiders have an explanation. Seems like a really talented squad.

The ACC is loaded and we lost 8 matches by a score of 4-3. When you add in that we only one 4-3 win, we were just extremely unlucky.

Ended the season ranked in the Top 35. One of the toughest schedules in the nation. Young team (only 1 senior). Will be top 20 at least next year

Beating Ohio State would be a tall order, but they have had some interesting results for such a strong team. Beat #63 Michigan State twice by 5-2 scores. Beat #43 Tulsa by 4-3.

They had quite a few matches with teams ranked worse than Wake that were fairly close.

And we are probably better than our ranking with our muliple 4-3 losses.

Lost the doubles point. Need 4 of 6 in singles to win.

Deacs lost. Ohio State is 3 in the country and has won 191 home matches in a row, the longest streak in NCAA history.

A decent season for Wake. Made the second round of the NCAA tourney, which is farther than last year. I expected a better year, with Wake staying around the top 15 all year, but instead they stayed around 25 for the last month or so.

I think the team will continue to improve next year with coach Bresky at the helm.

Lost 4-0. The spring sports season that started with such promise totally Wake Forested us.

This was way underachieving season. We brought in a bunch of transfer talent and a solid recruiting class, and ended up about the same as we were last year.

We also lost our top 3 players from last year, yet advanced one round further in the ncaa tourney this year.

We got two of the top 6 players as freshman from the #11 team in the nation transfer in, including their #1 player. They absorbed that loss and stilll finished #18, while we barely improved at all. We also had a very solid recruiting class. No reason this team shouldn't have been a top 15 quality team, which they were for several weeks before falling apart.

We did get upset in the 1st round of the NCAAs last year, but I think we had a run in the ACC tournament and had a better league finish.

This season was way disappointing. Maybe next year will be better.
