The 14th annual world rankings generates its rankings of 959 world universities based on student-faculty ratio, research citations per faculty member, employer reputation and ratios of both international students and international faculty. About 40 percent of each school's score comes from academic reputation based on a survey.
Seems like a very scientific and reliable approach.
If i recall correctly, the "ratios of international students and faculty" hurts us big-time because it doesn't include recently naturalized citizens or international students that went to high school in the states. Also, without many big-time doctoral programs recruiting internationally, wf can't really compete.
That's my understanding as well. We do have programs that rank in the top 25 internationally.
