They don’t want to draw anymore attention to this. It’s more attention on how they got worked (or whatever the correct 2&2 terminology is). It also brings more scrutiny on what actually happened as the original narrative becomes boring. A counter narrative gets more attention/clicks. They want this to die before it gets to the counter narrative.
 
I've been away all day but surely the dook AD has come out with a detailed apology for the 1000s of people that came onto the football field when they beat Clemson, right?

Kids right up in the faces of Clemson football players, taunting them?! Dangerous!

The dook AD has apologized for this security FAILURE, right?

According to Duke fans, because a football field is bigger and they have pads, Duke did nothing wrong.
 
After the overhead camera view Flip getting lambasted on twitter.

we have to do a better job on this but Flip flat out trip elbowed one dude lost his balance because of it and then another guy bumped into him. nothing To see here. Lord this is so Duke.
 
His fists were clenched before the student got to him. Clearly he was preparing for a battle instead of getting his ass off the court like the rest of his teammates.

The post game interview by Flip/Flop was pathetic. He commented that he felt that the contact from the Wake students was personal and intentional. Sure a couple of 145 pound accounting majors from New Jersey plotted during the entire game to rush the court and go directly at the 245 pound Duke center. Give me a break!!!

I will admit to being one of the oldest posters on this board and I have traveled to at least six away conference basketball arenas to see Wake play.

The only time I have ever had a bad experience was during my one and only trip(by choice) to see the Deacs play in Cameron. This was a game in either 1983 or 1984. The game went into overtime and the Deacs lost. My friend and I were seated near the court and as soon as the game ended the students behind us rushed the court and knocked both of us to our knees on the lousy high school style bleachers at Cameron. Thus, I have no compassion for the Scheyer tears.
 
This thread is moving quickly so not sure if it has been mentioned, but somewhere around the 2 minute mark, while the game was still very much undecided, you can hear the referee on the live broadcast tell Jon Scheyer “If they win, they’re going to rush the court. So I need you to stand over there.” Or something along those lines. I think it was right after Cam drew the questionable blocking call, so Scheyer was obviously very heated and not really listening, but he was told.
