Mode=4. My goal is to get the mode back to 3 (without cheating by turning 4s into 5s).

Mean (among succesfully solved puzzles)=3.84

Yesterday's Letterboxed: answers slapstick. 3 possible answers.

When I saw Connor solved it yesterday, I tried harder to solve it myself since the previous day's answers were pretty rare words. I worked with "sprinkler" for the longest time, but couldn't come up with a complementary word. Not really pleased with "wrinklier" but whatever. Connor has the more elegant solution.
