Memphis not a good crosser of the ball though and Mata doesn't have the pace to be a traditional winger. I think LvG playing it right with those two in the side.

Valencia/Young better suited for traditional wingers, but Wa$$a not exactly Duncan Ferguson as a target man...

So Chris Smalling has just been in excellent form to start this season. Carrying on from the end of last season. Just a completely different player than this time last year. LvG has worked wonders with him.
 
Some dude I've never heard of is shown his 2nd yellow card for a stupid lunging dive on Chicharito and is sent off. 10 mins left and Brugge out of subs to alter things around tactically.

Herrera in for Schneiderlin allows Carrick to play his more familiar 6 role instead of the 8 where he is uncomfortable.
