NC GOP gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson spoke to the annual NC GOP Convention in Greensboro yesterday. In his speech he vowed "to remake state government" in a more conservative direction if he wins. He particularly focused on remaking public ed, and attacked "pro-diversity efforts and “critical race theory” lessons in schools, which he described as garbage. He criticized teachers and other school officials who, he said, see themselves “all-powerful bureaucrats who think they know more than you, know your children better than you, who believe it’s okay to feed your children a steady diet of communism and pornography.” So apparently school administrators and teachers are knowingly teaching porn and communism to kids.
Robinson also said he would take such state agencies as public health and environmental regulations in a "new direction" if he was elected. And for what it's worth, most recent polls show him either tied or slightly leading Democratic candidate Josh Stein, although the number of "undecided" voters is very large in most polls, especially compared to the Trump/Biden race. I know of some veteran teachers who have flat-out said they will take early retirement if he or the crazy NC State Superintendent of Public Instruction candidate wins in November.
