Ron Wellman and the Attendance Claim

His explanation of the turnstile numbers, guesstimate numbers and " people coming in from all over the place" numbers were quite possibly the most bizarre aspect of a totally bizarre press conference. That guy either doesn't have it all together or he started trying to explain the numbers and then realized he didn't know what he was talking about and just tried to throw some babble out there and hoped it would go away.

No way this is accurate unless they were counting viewers logging onto ESPN3. How is it even possible that only 176 more people were there for NC State than the BC game?

Are we sure that wasn't the attendance at our home football games this year? Basketball was actually about 4500 in most cases for real attendance.
 
This is the prime example of why the fan base gets enraged . You have a bunch of Wake grads listening to a bunch of horse shit while they are seeing something else with their own eyes. It's amazing Wellman even mentions attendance at basketball games. It just begs for trouble. You have the offspring of Wake grads telling Daddy they liked going to games when lots of people went, but now no one goes anymore. Five year olds get it.
 
As in many other things, Wellman is living in a non-existent fabrication, a world of denial of reality. He has surrounded himself with people who don't tell him the truth because he is not interested in that. He only wants spin that makes him look good. Don't say a thing Ron. If you say it, then it will be embarrassing. Just retire Ron, ASAP.
 
Ron Wellman illustrated with yesterday's horrendous press conference why he needs to retire, or be forcibly retired.

He is already long past his sell-by date. For four years he has insulted the intelligence of thousands of Wake alumni and he continues to do so.
 
OK, Ron, I get it. Attendance is an estimate. I wish we could estimate the score at the Joel without having to use real numbers. In that way, I would expect and estimate that we would never lose a game there.
