Twice this week teams in the ACC (FSU and VT) have not held the ball for the last shot (a 2 point attempt) which, if successful, would have been a game-winner. In each case, plenty of time was left on the clock for the other team (Clemson and UVa respectively) to go down and hit a shot to win almost at the buzzer. Is it my imagination or is holding for the last shot (leaving enough time for a tip-in attempt if missed) a strategy that was used frequently a generation ago but rarely seen today? Maybe I'm misremembering.
