Teflon Buzz Rises Again

Wow... I can not imagine a worse 3 hours for anyone. How do you talk to that man for 3 straight hours and then offer him a job?
How you talk to him 30 minutes and don't hang yourself is a bigger challenge.

Rockets new defensive coach Jeff [name redacted] on the criticism directed toward James Harden's defense: "He can defend as all of them can when they want to and that goes back to everybody needs to be committed and there needs to be a trust."

WTF??

Who would have guessed that both Grobe and [Redacted] would end up in Texas the same week?

Sounds like James is going to receive a back rub and some soft words of wisdom.

Can you just imagine the range of stares, from blank to evil, that Harden is going to be giving that man.

Meh, Harden's gotta have more patience than you think. He did play for Sendek.

Coaching is quite the fraternity. In almost any other line of work, if you are a failure at your job, you find something else to do. But bad coaches always seemed to get picked up somewhere else.

I was thinking the same when I saw Anthony Grant on OKC's bench Monday night.

Because of the "numbers", the Griz fired the two most successful coaches in team history. Basically, each didn't want the front office to be coaching the games. As long as the front office wants to try to dictate style and PT, the Griz have a ceiling.

Once you get into the coaching fraternity, apparently being really awful doesn't keep you from being recycled. The same names shuffle from NBA city to city with the same crappy results, and it never changes. If you can avoid being busted for drugs, DUI or domestic violence, there will always be another job waiting for you.

The idea of [] being a defensive guru is laughable. During his tenure at WF, WF was DFL in defense two of his 4 years, and 9th of 12 and 11th out of 15 in the ACC over his 4 years. Apart from the metrics, he never demonstrated any ability to either teach or game plan defense on a competent level among his college piers to think that he is defensive specialist on the NBA level is laughable. Sadly, that dope will spend another few years wearing a suit on an NBA sideline convinced that he is way more capable than he actually is.
