Wake Golf 2024 - Going Back to Cali for the NCAA Title; Women: May 17-22; Men May 24-29

Is it a little screwed that the WFU women got 2 other big time conference champs in our regional? I'd imagine were the top seed or top 2/3 overall at worst.

SEC plays 3 rounds of match play in their championship...the #1 (S. Carolina) and #2 (Auburn) seeds got knocked off in the quarterfinals, Miss. St. was the 4th seed (and wasn't even ranked in the top-25 in the April 12th WGolf rankings), so just luck of the draw that you ended up with the Big 12 and SEC champs in your regional. They are probably the 5th or 6th best team in the SEC.

That makes more sense then, just figured that would be a loaded regional if the ACC/SEC/Big 12 champs all were in there together but if those others aren't the real best teams then easily explained.

Regionals are not televised. The national finals will have coverage on the final day of stroke play (Mon.), and both days of match play (Tues/Wed), since golf channel needs programming on those days.

Just saw the Tennessee women’s team eating at a CFA in West Asheville about to continue down 40

Plus you don’t have to win a regional to advance to NCAA finals. The Top 5 from each regional move on.

Who is heading out these next couple days? I'm trying to clear some meetings so I can make it out there today or tomorrow.

You would think that in 2024 that every NCAA championship would at least be available to stream.

It's pretty expensive to stream events, much less a golf tournament where you would be covering acres of land. Even the LIV guys aren't currently getting paid for their broadcasts!

Yeah even the ACC Tournament streams were basically following 2-3 groups or certain holes.

Lady Deacs have been consistent all day and are in great shape coming down the stretch of round one. Texas started hot but cooled off tremendously on the back nine.

Up 6 at the moment. Two T2 and another T4. Pretty tough to top that. Plus our 4 is E and our 5 is +1, which is not bad either.

8 shots clear of 6th which is all that really matters. First place by 1 shot so far. Looking really good for a first round.
