9. Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Historically, Wake Forest is the worst major college program of all-time based on winning percentage. Or, in Wake Forest's case...losing percentage. However, the Demon Deacons have, somehow, managed to put together a few solid seasons since 2006. But they haven't been to a bowl game since 2011.

They call Alabama the Crimson Tide .........

That shit ended when Grobe started coaching at WFU. We won the freaking ACC in 2006 and 28 games in 3 seasons. Yes, we have 5 straight losing seasons but WFU football is still better than it was under Caldwell, Dooley, Groh, Mackovic and Mills. ( 1979 and 1992 were aberrations )

Given our storied history in football, this comes as shocking news.

Indiana, Dook, Kansas, and Kentucky. What do these schools have in common? I think this settles the debate. Grobe is to blame for the basketball program failing. Get back to sucking at football and we will win some games on the court.

With the exception of Indiana, every single team on the list has had a 8+-win season since the turn of the century (and all but IU & Kentucky -- who twice won 8 games -- have had a 9+ win season) #theworldisflat

Not so sure about that. I certainly don't think that 1979 was an outlier. Mackovic was only at Wake for three years, and coached the greatest non-conference home victory in Wake history against Auburn. He also took that team to the first bowl game in any living Wake fan's memory.

And that was before there were so many bowl games that all you had to do was finish .500.

In 1980, Mackovic lost 4 games by a total of 7 pts. A 9-2 record would have put us in a Bowl game, but he still would have left for the Cowboys.

Hey.......be happy.
We made the top 10!

79 was an outlier. We even fell apart at the end of the season and got blown out 3 times in our last 4 games.

George Rogers beat us and then ran over us like a rented mule. It was brutal.

Nothing more LOWF than to denigrate the 2nd greatest football season in my lifetime as luck.
