Will they get an NCAA bid?

They finished badly, but have been in the top 25 most of the year???

They should, but it will be a 3 seed when they were borderline 1 seed early in the year.

I think so. It is projected that Wake will be around 32 in the computer polls and usually the cut-off for automatic bids is in the 40-44 range.

Wake played a really tough schedule and lost at least 9 matches 4-3, but you are correct that they finished poorly losing 4-3 to NC State and VT (twice) in their last few matches.

The NCAA selections will be released tomorrow afternoon.

From the Wake website today it looks like they signed another big time recruit. http://www.wakeforestsports.com/sports/m-tennis/spec-rel/042814aab.html

Wake made the tourney and will play Louisville in the first round. Wake beat them 5-2 earlier in the year. If Wake wins they will play the overall #3 seed, Ohio State.

That could be a tough matchup for you between Wake and Ohio State. Would you pull for Wake Rafi?

Don't know if there is a sport more dependent upon recruiting (maybe golf?) than tennis. And recently we seem to be winning that battle so expect our team to continue to get even stronger.

Yeah, coaching in these sports just seem to be all recruiting and some sports psychologist.

Lots of strategy in building a singles lineup. You'd be shocked at how many different 1-6 combinations we have used this year. Also finding good doubles pairings who play well together.

There is a reason pro tennis players have coaches, strategy and opponent-specific game-planning is involved as well
