Decline the NIT and get to work in the portal

that is silly. why? because we lost it at the end of the season. it's not like ncaa will snub us, it's where we played our self.

We need a solid PG and a forward that can guard the 3 and 4 when necessary.

We’ll probably get embarrassed at home first round anyway. The team has checked out

embarrassed? i think you need to care to feel that.

What's it matter? Cast members change, same result.

We ought to hope that more players stay and Forbes coaches them up. That's a program.

For the third straight year, we're down to six guys who can play. Priority #1 needs to be building that up to 8 or 9 guys, which starts with retaining everyone but Sallis and praying we avoid any horrific injuries in whatever remains of our season. This year goes completely differently if Damari doesn't get hurt against State and Klintman doesn't bail for Australia. The Klintman departure seems like a one-off, and no other players I've wanted to retain have left, but it's a whole new world with NIL and free transfers.

If we keep Miller, Cam, Carr, Reid, and Parker, that's a solid core to work around that gives us some options to build out the rotation.

1. Juke Harris being playable- I see he's gotten the Wake drop in the rankings, and now sits between Carter Whitt and Travis McKie in our all-time recruits on 247. There's probably less positional need here than at other spots, but I'm hoping he can come in and soak up 10-12 mpg.

2. MMM developing into a rotation player- He's shown some flashes, and seems to have the best shot among our bench crew of ever breaking in. At 6'8", 210 where does he fit?

3. Portal PG- In retrospect, D.J. Horne was the biggest recruiting miss last year. Maybe there wouldn't have been enough shots to go around (he's jacking up 28.1% of NCSU's), but this was really the missing piece. Maybe Boopie makes a big leap forward and hangs on to the starting spot, but we have to add a secondary ballhandler, at the very least.

4. Portal big- Tyrese Samuel would be the second-biggest miss. We don't need offense here, just somebody who can rebound, move his feet on defense, and contest shots at the rim while Reid gets a breather.

5. Portal BPA- We should be an attractive landing spot given Forbes's success. Obviously, you don't ever turn down someone with a ceiling like Sallis's.

It's frustrating that a season has gone by, and we really don't know what we have in either Clark or MMM.

Really need more depth in the post, we were screwed anytime Reid/Carr got into any sort of foul trouble. Marsh & Keller aren't it.

Biggest portal priorities have to be another serviceable big (especially if Carr leaves), a true 3 with size that can guard, and someone to replace Sallis's scoring production

I see several categories. We could a lot of roster turnover, and return four starters.

Returning core (5)
Cam, Reid, Carr, Boopie, and Parker all have to return. None of them seem like a threat to leave, but who knows.

They gone (2)
Sallis and Monsanto. I would still try to throw some NIL to Sallis to see if he would even consider coming back. Don't see how Monsanto is back.

Upgrade (5)
Keller, Clark, Jao, Canka, Marsh. Try to find an upgrade for every one of these players. If Forbes wants to take a shot on one of them developing, OK. We can't bring back these five guys again.

X-factors? (2)
MMM, Juke. No idea what to expect. Can 3M be a serviceable ACC player? Is Juke playable Day 1? Both probably need to be a "yes" for us to be better next season.

I would throw a ton of money at Sallis. Try to keep one of Marsh or Keller. Keep 3M and Canka, and hope one develops. Hope Cam, Reid, Parker, Boopie and Carr stay.

Would be very much Wake luck that Monsanto heals, returns to form for another ACC school and drops 30 on us twice. At would.leave us 3 spots to fill

IMHO, Ituka is still an enigma. He's been injured for two seasons. IDK if you want to keep him around to see whether the preseason flashes actually carry over or move on.

The downside of encouraging him to stay is whether or not he will stay healthy for a season and what he has after two years of not playing. Supposedly he was playable against P5 teams before being injured. IDK if I invest another scholarship year or not. Presumably Forbes and staff have more info on his rehab and capabilities.
