What are you listening to right now?

Fittingly he was not part of the 50th reunion. Doubt Brian Wilson tolerated that shit.

Also add:

The Connells
Hardsoul Poets
Athanaeum

I'm sure the album release for Dillon Fence was Living Room Scene. I wore that CD out.

trying to be better about buying music from artists I like, especially smaller bands

don't do vinyl

how are people that pay for digital music "holding" it and playing it? seems like I can keep a lot of it through Bandcamp, but what about stuff that isn't hosted on Bandcamp?

Apple Music is kinda annoying to use but would support that

Time for you olds to reminisce

Dillon Fence FTW.

I forgot about the Sex Police.

Can't forget about Jackopierce. They were ubiquitous back then and when I moved to Dallas I discovered many years later that they are Dallas-based. They played the NYE show here a few years ago and I thought WTF, didn't they used to play at Ziggy's and Baity's all the time? Why, yes. Yes, they did.

Gibb Droll was solid.

I saw Austin Lounge Lizards at Ziggy's probably the year before. Why? Because my dad's cousin is in the band. They're still around too, much older and with a few replacements, but still kicking.

Would’ve been cool to see Aquarium Rescue Unit back in the day. And when Panic, DMB, and Phish played Ziggy’s.

Just wanted to rec a friend's (drummer) new band (Brian K and the Parkway)/album. I've really enjoyed listening to it over the last couple of weeks. Lots of NC and Wake connections in the making of this one.

I just wanted to say "Thank You" to whoever it was that posted the song by Waxahatchee the other day. Really love that single and I've been listening to their catalogue ever since and really enjoying it.

On October 13, 1975, the man voted Entertainer of the Year by the Country Music Association of America one year earlier stood onstage at the CMA awards show to announce that year's winner of the Association's biggest award. But a funny thing happened when he opened the envelope and saw what was written inside. Instead of merely reading the name "John Denver" and stepping back from the podium, Charlie Rich reached into his pocket for a cigarette lighter and set the envelope on fire, right there onstage. Though the display shocked the live audience in attendance, John Denver himself was present only via satellite linkup, and he offered a gracious acceptance speech with no idea what had occurred.

A now 17 year old tradition for us is the annual Mother’s Day Mix CD. My wife “likes” music but isn’t a music person (she only likes what she knows). So this started as a way to introduce new music to her that she could play in the car. It has grown, so that for the last 9 years, there’s been a theme each year and now the kids help make the playlist (mostly the middle kid).

Not much of a theme this year, but each kid picked 5 songs for the cd to share their music with their mom (this is the first year the oldest and youngest have contributed to the CD).

Here’s this years playlist:

Oldest - only listens to punk
Middle - eclectic tastes
Youngest - classic rock

I don't know the Brand New tune "Jude Law and the semester abroad",

But many students who did the semester abroad at Wake's Worrell house will have regularly seen Jude Law next door -- I think he would visit Sienna Miller there after they separated after the nanny incident? Or maybe Sadie Frost and his kids lived there. Hard to say

Is there a Brand New Wake Forest connection!?
