Cutting Dino away before he had a chance to fail only works if you bring in a name coach. It is a terrible decision if you bring in a dumpster fire or even an up and comer.
If you think that it is a huge rebuilding job, then you are hanging a new coach with having that task, plus that the fact that you fired the previous coach after he won an NCAA tournament game with the stated reason of due to lack of postseason success. Setting your next coach up for failure unless he hits HRs.
I talk to people who are ACC fans but don't follow Wake closely, and they all say "Why did you fire Dino? He didn't do great in the tourney but he won games in the ACC".
Would have been much better to let Dino live or die with the freshman 10-11 team and then bring in a new coach off of a bad season if it comes to pass.
