Is there a better way to get wireless on your xbox than just getting the 360 wireless adapter? If possible, also would want to make my TV and Cable Box connected to the internet. So if there is something out there to make the 360wireless and then i can run ethernet cables to the tv and cable box thatd be ideal since all 3 are right next to each other but not super close to the main Router.

if you put the xbox RIGHT NEXT to the router, sometimes it will magically connect on its own!

Xbox 360 can only be wireless with the adaptor.

i have seen other places say you can use other wireless routers instead of the official microsoft one, isnt that right? are there any out there you guys recommend? or any out there that i could make the 360 wireless and then connect ethernet to that to plug into the tv?

Are you asking if you can use your xbox to give internet access to the TV and Cable box? (once you've gotten it hooked up wirelessly)

are you just looking for a cheaper option or are you afraid the 360 version is limited?

I would look for a device that could act as a wireless bridge imo, so you can just connect all 3 devices to that w/ ethernet cables, and then it would provide the wireless connection.

wireless bridge looks to be pretty much exactly what i wanted, thanks. i was wondering if there was a way for whatever wireless item i used on the 360 could be a bridge as well but the bridge should be perfect. any rec's?

If you're any good w/ technology you could use an old linksys router and flash DD-WRT firmware on it and then set it up as a bridge. That's what we did to get a roommate's xbox hooked up wirelessly. But like I said, it's a little bit more complicated.

Here's a bit nicer one, you could probably find something that's a lesser brand/speed for a better price if you looked around (I don't really do much shopping for these, so I'm not sure what to look for):

I did this myself. Holy crap it was a pain in the ass.

Or you could get a powerline solution like this:

http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-XAVB1...M2VI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318525843&sr=8-1

And plug it into a 4 port hub near your tv that those 3 devices would use, and then nothing would be wireless.

http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-FS105...8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1318525975&sr=1-8

If you can get the hub for around $10-$20 total cost would be under $100. Main benefit is it would be a wired connection. I used this for my home theater setup because I needed to stream HD and wireless wasn't up to the task. Works like a charm.

Wo, I've never heard of that powerline solution. That's awesome.

(I feel like such a noob)

This is exactly what I did and it works great.

Pretty sure you just need a gameboy linkup cable-preferably one with pikachu on it. That way you can get on xbox live and trade/battle pokemons.
