So is "he that shall not be named" in the Gold Cup conversation or not?

This is only marginally related to US soccer, but I'm going to ask anyway.
So, my daughter's HS team clinched a share of its conference championship this week (very cool stuff, as they're only a second year school). The other team has one game remaining - lose or tie, and we're outright champions. If they win, we share the title. Unfortunately, the NCHSAA predetermines seeds, and this year, our conference's number one seed has a pretty smooth path to the third round while the second seed gets state power Charlotte Catholic in round two. Our conference tiebreaker? A seeding playoff game. Second tiebreaker? Coin flip. Kind of sucks, as we beat them 3-0 in the second matchup after having lost 2-1 the first time (aggregate would have been nice). The funny thing is that the other coach wants no part of a playoff game. He wants to flip a coin, and my daughter's coach wants to determine her fate on the field. Lots of acrimony over this. Since we played three games this week (state max), we couldn't play the game until Monday. States start on Wednesday. Some worry that it's too much, but I like our coach's take on things. Anyway, just ranting. NC does a terrible job with the playoffs. Too many teams, stupid, antiquated seeding system, and dumb tiebreakers.
Parental rumble. Perfect.
Taking a group of 9 up to DC the next weekend for the Quarterfinals. Going out on a limb here and assuming the US finishes 1st or 2nd in our group.
