Here are my goals for the new year:
1. the biggest one is completing my dissertation this year, I'm already planning to meet with my advisor at least every other week, and I'm scheduled to work with two different writing groups to keep me accountable
2. invest more attention in my buddhist practice - (a) join a sangha [maybe the Dassanaya Buddhist Community] and (b) deliberately meditate more
3. continue my language learning - i'm probably good enough at German to go to a Kaffeestunde nearby for some hands-on practice. my spanish needs work and I need to get serious about my Icelandic
4. get on the radio, I think? I really want to apply for a slot at Takoma Park's community station - to bring back my college radio show "Music to Make Studies to" that plays ambient/drone/deep house, etc. - I miss radio and if teaching doesn't work out then I wouldn't mind being on the air as a job, but beyond my college radio experience and a year at WFDD I don't have a lot on the resume so this might help
