Never change, NBC News. Never change.

Let me guess. The right-wing blogosphere is trying to equate something Obama said 14 years ago as a state senator to something Romney said 4 months ago as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

^Its easier to try to bring the other guy down to your level, in whatever fraudulent way possible, than answer criticism with substance, policy, or facts.

What's the big deal about that audio? There's nothing wrong with what he said. Shit, didn't the infallible Reagan even believe in some redistribution, to a certain extent.

HAHAHA

Is that the best Obama haters can do? They ALL pay into Social Security, don't they?

Hahaha

I don't know either:

1. Any progressive taxes=wealth redistribution.
2. Any social safety net=wealth redistribution.
3. Heck, even a flat tax is wealth redistribution.

Funny how intelligent Obama sounds even way back then and Romney talks like he is an inch deep and a mile wide.

I love how hard jhmd is trying. He's Schianoing the hell out of this -- diving at the knees until the clock reads double zero. Perfectly legal. Never change, jhmd, never change.

if that is the best shot Romney can take, then I'll go ahead and snooze till election day and wake up when Obama has about 320 electoral votes.

To get to the original point, seems silly for Mitchell not to acknowledge the tape. The tape itself is horseshit, but the fact that Romney and his buddy Drudge put it out there makes it news.

The only way Mitchell could have gotten away with this, and maybe not "away with it," but it would have helped, is if she was Latino.

I wouldn't expect that BO's confirmation of his socialist leanings is going to affect the opinion of his supporters. But yeah, Andrea Mitchell looks like an idiot trying to "authenticate" it. The reason they won't run with it is because they're protecting their man. Find some tape of Mitt Romney answering a question about the pervasive attitude toward government dependence and this administration's advocacy of it (something else confirmed by this Obama tape) and they'll run with it as "another Romney gaffe."

You either don't understand what Socialism is or you don't understand what redistribution means. Right now you just come across as highly ignorant.

Is it (or was it ever) possible to graduate Wake and actually NOT take a PoliSci class? Most of the people in my HS class had at least two or three classes that taught the basic differences between Torries, Whigs, Republicans, Democrats, Labor, Progressives, Communists, Fascists, and Socialists- at the minimum.

My prediction is that the MSM will turn against Obama after the election. I think there will be a collective guilt about how they created him and the reflexive response will be to tear him down. Hillary would be smart to distance herself as soon as possible.

We can worry about that after the election. The all-important thing right now is to make sure that Obama is reelected. Having Mitt Romney as president is unthinkable.

Having Mitt Romney as president would only be marginally different than Obama as president and the difference would be rhetoric.

As I heard someone say on Bloomberg this morning.... This is a race between two unelectable candidates.
