BBall Recruiting Megathread 3.0 - The Manning era begins: The Harry Giles Chronicles

If we get either Haas or Moore, our next coach could get us into The Dance with these four starting:

Devin
Shelton Mitchell
CMM
Haas/Moore

With the two bigs (Devin & either Haas or Moore), Shelton and CMM having Moto or McClinton running the wings would make a tough team to stop on the break.

We could definitely use a knockdown 6'5-6'7 shooting wing.

Other than Devin, when did we last close a deal with a kid whose "final five" included several strong programs?

Not sure what Greg McClinton's final five were but he was being recruited heavily by Louisville and UConn when he committed to us.

Moto counts. Legit pickup for Buzz and co.

ETA: IIRC (and in this article), Moto's favorites included Wake, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Florida, Miami, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech.

We recruited some scrub from Benet (private school outside of Chicago) last year, too. COME ONE, COME ALL WHITE BOYS.

Sean O'Mara
6'9, 220/240 lbs

ESPN: 4-star (#20 C)
Scout: 3-star (#21 C)
Rivals: 3-star (#141 overall)

Offers include Wake a ton of schools include BC, DePaul, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa State, Marquette, Virginia, and Xavier.

2 mins of video and not one clip of him grabbing a rebound.

Actually there is one a 0:16..but he never misses a shot :)

Haas confirms in a tweet that we have both offered him and that we're in his top-5 (schools don't seem listed in order of importance).

Isaac Haas ‏@isaacbball44 23 Jul

Purdue, Texas A&M, Wake Forest, Virginia, and UAB. I want to thank everyone and all the these coaches and every coach who has offered me.

With Haas and O'Mara joining Moore as legit targets at the 5, it looks like we've really expanded efforts to recruit a traditional big for 2014.

What alphabet are you using?

O'Mara is the same person we recruited from Benet last year and he is not a scrub. Very skilled and being recruited by many other high majors. Whether he fits what we need is another question entirely.

We seem like the clear choice of his top five, especially with Shelton feeding him the ball. Let's not F it up with a bunch of negativity. Rock on!
