Heads up: Potential government shutdown

Schumer Schellout. The Dems caved because they couldn't stand the pressure at the polls going into the November elections and another wave of crushing losses sending their total over 1100 seats since Obama came to office and started the downward spiral. Now DT will get the credit because black unemployment is at an all-time low, women unemployment is at an all-time low as is Hispanic unemployment. People vote their pocketbook. The Dow up over 7000 also since DT took office. Tons of business regulations done away with. DT is crushing it and the media can't stand it!

If y’all ever wondered what was meant by the term rube...

It's pretty funny that less than a year after dismissing the official unemployment numbers as fake, Republicans are trumpeting them as evidence that the President is crucial to job creation.

Name some of the regulations that were taken away and why that's beneficial

If the dems were smart they would have been taking down every name possible in the latest round of marches and signing up new voters with vaginas and darker skin tones by the scores. The only thing the dems need now, or ever, is voter turnout, and that's women and black people and latinos and young gay people and all reasonable thinking humans who don't fall for GOP cons and bogeyman fear-mongering and fright.

By all reports, there was voter registration at the marches.

well they'd better not fuck it up.

At the Triad Women’s March in Winston, there were several booths registering people to vote. But yes, they better show up this year to the polls.

The most bawse move of the March, though, were the dads there in support of their wives and daughters, and ALSO selling Girl Scout cookies with their girls. We got a pack because we had to wait a while to start marching. Genius.

I am pretty certain the entire Nevada March was dedicated to voter registration.

Confirmed....voter registration drive and rally.

Its organizers knew, of course. And they made a conscious choice about where to host their flagship anniversary event: Las Vegas, Nev.

Its title, "Power To The Polls," reveals its stated objective: to direct the ire, unity and energy of its participants into voting booths for the next round of congressional elections in November.

Nevada was chosen for its status as a "battleground state that will shape the Senate in 2018," the organizers say on their website. Organizers have been quick to note that Hillary Clinton won Nevada in the 2016 election and that the state also recently elected the first Latina U.S. senator.

Organizers say Sunday's event is meant to be the beginning of a national voter registration effort across 10 states, with the goal of registering at least one million people, reports NPR's Leila Fadel.

Sunday's event was not a march, organizers say, but a rally, beginning at 10 a.m. local time inside the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. Officials tell Fadel that although the venue can hold 40,000, they expected roughly 17,000. The organizers say they are less concerned with crowd size than with spreading their message. Nearly two hours after doors opened, Fadel estimated that thousands — many in the movement's trademark pussyhats — had filed into the stadium under clear skies.

shocker

is there anyone that didn't think we would be here again?

Rand Paul has rediscovered his fiscal conservatism after voting to blow a $1.5 trillion hole in the deficit.

The legislation also would keep the federal government operating through March 23, giving lawmakers time to write an omnibus spending package to fund the government through the rest of the fiscal year. Congress has until Thursday at midnight to avert a shutdown.

Just give them a few more weeks and they'll be able to negotiate the thing they haven't been able to negotiate since last September.

"When Rand Paul pulls a stunt like this, it easy to understand why it's difficult to be Rand Paul's next door neighbor,” said Rep. Charlie Dent, referring to the neighbor who assaulted Paul last year, breaking several of his ribs and sending him to the hospital. “The whole delay and filibuster exercise on the budget agreement is utterly pointless.”
