Ongoing US GOP Debacle Thread: Seditious Republicans march toward authoritarianism

I have a lot of respect to Steve Schmidt. Hopefully other reasonable Republicans will make the same journey he did.

NPR 1A (the former Diane Rehm Show) broadcasted today from CPAC. The host asked about the nationalist elements of the party and the guest said that they worked hard to keep them out of this year's event. The host responded by asking why they invited Marine Le Pen's niece to speak. The guest actually had the nerve to respond, "We invited Marion Le Pen, not Marine Le Pen. They're different people." and explained their ideological differences. Keep in mind Marion is third generation National Front and she joined the party as soon as she could.

GOP has the moral high ground with the blatant Democratic corruption in the last election.

Tax cuts are not crumbs - perhaps to someone like Pelosi and her $75 Million journey thru Congress.

From a policy standpoint, she's also not an American conservative or a classical liberal by any means. She supports universal healthcare, nationalizing banks, anti-free trade along with many other types of government intervention that conservatives at least used to oppose. She's essentially a nationalist socialist.

Right. And it’s not the socialist part that got her invited to CPAC.

It’s fascinating watching him realize things about his party that others have been observing for decades.

When Fascism comes to America it will be sold as an anti-Fascist movement which will demand a diversity so profound that it will allow for only one authoritative and unified opinion
