Provence/French Riviera Tips

In general I'd say French chicks have more puffy nipples and may therefore be more accepting thereof. Italian chicks have darker less puffy nipples. I assume the same may go for dudes. In general.

It's your honeymoon. Splurge a bit and do a fully supported ride/tour. Let them handle the logistics.

Strongly considering this too, taking some of the logistics out of it. Price isn't that big of a concern--just trying to consider all options. Curious if any have tried both supported and unsupported and could give advice.

GF and I visited France and Italy this past June. Took train from Paris to Aix en Provence and rented a car. Stayed one night in Roumoules at this awesome B&B and then road tripped it to Florence. Catherine was very nice and the castle was really cool to see. All of the breakfast was made by her and very tasty. We saw one lavender field that had bloomed on the way to Roumoules, the rest were behind due to a cool spring. Not sure if they would be done by now or not.

There was not much to Roumoules, instead we spend the afternoon/evening in Moustiers Sainte Marie. Very pretty, cool village up in the mountains. There is a stream/waterfall that runs through the city. Nice to explore, many good restaurants. After leaving Roumoules, we explored the Gorges du Verdon and drove through it down to Nice and on to Florence. You can kayak and swim in the lake/gorge; we didn't have time but our friend from Florence highly recommended doing so. Also a lot of climbing in the area.

Thanks to all who helped. Hoping vad or some Euro will come with more stuff too. Think we're gonna do May, self-guided but supported cycle tour, most likely the coast with a day trip or two up in the hills.

I got overruled this go-round, but next time I want to do Nida > Bratislava > Dubrovnik.

Meh. Pops liked Amalfi. Nothing stopping us from going there another time. Can't beat the food either way.

Gives me an excuse to learn French and get dark with some existentialism and bleepy bloopy music.

Stay safe Townie.

It's been a while since I did it, but I think you can walk from France through Monaco to Italy in less than an hour. That's pretty wild.

If you are in Monte Carlo, go down by the Olympic Pool or onto the street above the Grand Casino. There are bunch of local bistros which are fun and not expensive. You can also go to the little markets and buy some bread, cheese, meats and wine for a picnic by the Sporting Club.

On the Riviera and in Monaco, do not be shocked to see dogs in fancy restaurants.

Here's a good phrase if you order shrimp and don't want it looking at you, "Sans la Tete". - without the head. Otherwise you will get your shrimp with buggy eyes looking at you.

Rubbins, what will you do with your day off? You should take the Boy out on the sea.
