Connie Hawkins dead at 75

Before there was DrJ, there was The Hawk. At 6'9, other than shooting long range jumpers, there was nothing Hawk couldn't do. He was really the first high flyer. No one could cover him one-on-one and he was an amazing passer. His hands were monstrous and like glue.

The NBA screwed him big time by blackballing him for about six years over an Iowa point-shaving that he had nothing whatsoever to do with. He was totally innocent.

If he had been allowed to play those years, his accomplishments and legend would be almost unbelievable.

RIP Hawk!

Elgin Baylor to Connie Hawkins to Julius Erving to Michael Jordan is correct. An absolute NYC legend so big RJ heard about him as a child in Philly.
