Hatch is highly compensated, no doubt. But I do think the number is misleading. His 2015 compensation included the vesting of a 10-year $2.89 million supplemental executive retirement plan. $2.3 million of the $2.89 million was earned and reported on prior year tax returns, but the SERP vested in 2015. It’s not really a bonus - it’s a form of deferred comp.
