It’s a good thing we have an agreed upon agency/funding to track it. Oh wait, Republicans outlawed that’s.

Here's a map with 17 shootings that happened this year. Some say 17 some say 18. Either one is totally disgusting and proven here.

It's not 20 students injured. It's 18 separate mass shootings at schools since Jan. 1.

false

there have been too many shootings, at schools and elsewhere

we don't need to lie about the numbers and the severity

You guys are right. Doesn’t matter how many there really are because apparently it doesnt matter to the ruling class

The last page of discussion has literally been about the danger of using exaggerated stats. And then you go pile exaggeration on top of the discussed exaggeration.

I have represented many shooters in the past. Based, in part, on that experience, it is my opinion that the only realistic option is to have a trained, armed presence in locations where we don't want people to be shot at en masse.

The alternative, complete elimination of access to firearms, is unworkable in America for the foreseeable future. There is no adequate half-measure.

Your "solution" is to send kids to schools guarded by lots of people with guns. Boy, that sounds very healthy for young kids.

Let's put people with AR-15s and the like at every store and ballgame. That won't upset crazy people and cause other shootings. I'm certain every well-armed security guard will be perfectly trained, background checked and have mental illness tests regularly.

If it's not security guards, how will communities pay for arming, training and hiring the vastly greater number of cops your concept will require?

It's not rocket science to understand why there has been such a dramatic increase in mass shootings with semi-automatic rifles since it became legal to buy and sell them as opposed to the period they were banned nationally.

In Heller, even the darling of the far right, Judge Scalia wrote that gun laws that didn't ban all personal ownership were completely constitutional. But the NRA owns Republicans and some Dems.

You're kinda dumb, bro. At the very least, you like to put words in people's mouths, at the worst, you constantly bloviate hyperbole.

Has more guns ever worked to reduce gun violence?

We already know a “trained, armed presence” is trigger happy and responsible for many gun deaths in America.

Your plan just increases the likelihood of trigger happy LEOs shooting unarmed kids on school grounds.

There was an armed guard at the school.

And all or nothing is a terrible plan or policy.

This is what you said:

"it is my opinion that the only realistic option is to have a trained, armed presence in locations where we don't want people to be shot at en masse."

Those are YOUR words, not mine. All I did was show would have to be done to make YOUR WORDS a reality.

We certainly wouldn't want kids shot at school. "To to have a trained, armed presence in locations where we don't want people to be shot at en masse" -to do that would take hiring massive numbers of cops or security guards.

These are YOUR words. How would it be paid for? What would kids think about going to school in an armed camp every day from K-12?

Let's deal with this one alone and YOUR words.

Drop the word "mass" and say "shootings".

Parse all you like...17 dead/145 injured in FL yesterday, last month 2 dead, 18 injured in KY, one shot in the head and two others injured in LA and others.

How many are too many?
