2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

So no support then? Some RJ level analysis.

Lol ok let me go put together a spreadsheet of times Bernie acted like a dick because he is a grouch when it would be easier and more politically expedient to be nice. Brb, shouldn’t take me long to go through a half century of evidence.

Bernie says that class war already exists, so we might as well fight. His polling suggests people trust him to represent their interests more than any other candidate. Your “he doesn’t connect with people” analysis is just punditry without any class analysis.

Based on his polling, he has connected with less than 1 in 5 Democratic primary voters. When he starts hitting above the Mendoza line, I’ll take your point more seriously.

And I like Bernie. I think he sees the world as how it should be and has worked his whole life to try to realize that goal. But it is not some off the wall opinion to suggest that he does not play well with others. And that’s fine, he is a man of principle and conviction. But he will never be Obama and build coalitions and I was trying to make the point that Pete and other Obama disciples are trying to (to middling effect).

Pete’s speech is better to the 90-95% of voters who are more swayed by how it feels. Emotion is the most powerful driver of the human condition.

Mayor Pete is in a statistical dead head with Warren in Iowa (19 vs. 20)

Think this gets at the root of it too: https://www.newsweek.com/2020-democ...s-polls-policies-democratic-socialism-1469949

People think Bernie is the best on the issues, but still think there's a more electable candidate out there. We're so beaten down and terrified of more Trump we're willing to get anybody not named Trump and issues be damned.

I’m surprised that Biden is coming above Warren on a lot of those when he doesn’t really have stances on issues beyond “we need to look at that” or “we need to study that”. Bernie and Warren have had the most clear cut policies by far, I’d have thought they’d be clear top two here.

Americans are too dumb or ignorant to understand policy.

Who outside of the maybe 10% who care the most are going to read policy memos from a presidential candidate before the primary.

OK boomer*

*I know itc isn't a member of the Baby Boomer generation. By using the word "boomer," I'm referring to a popular meme.

But doesn't it work better when the meme actually applies to the person you're targeting ?

Asking for a boomer I know.
