2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

can you just paddle your own fucking canoe for a day or two

If you honestly believe that Clinton threw everything at Sanders, then I don't know what to tell you. Between that and trying to do reputation repair on Joe Rogan within 10 minutes. I wish I could be that naive.

Iowa seems like a tossup. Bernie's ground game is head and shoulders above any other campaign right now, but poll numbers are still pretty all over the map. It does look like he'll take NH and NV though.

Iowa is even more of a toss up because there may be three “winners”. Who gets the most overall raw votes, who gets the most initial delegates, and who gets the most final delegates.

We could see three different candidates claim victory.

I don't even know which candidate is chrisl's preferred candidate is, ideologically speaking

Really, I haven't done an issues "test" but I would almost be willing to bet that I would come closest to Biden and Kloubuchar (maybe Bloomberg now that he is in the race). It isn't like my ideology has radically changed in the years I have posted here.

right, but your statements on the politics board are 90% what you don't like, so it can be hard to figure out what you

You regularly say things on here far more controversial than Joe Rogan says, if we're being honest about it.

The next morning, Trump will say he won the Dem tilt.

Yes we know that you are never remotely honest in your posts and this pretty much confirms it. Like that time I said that attractive people have a natural advantage in elections and you freaked out and everybody was wondering what the hell you were talking about?

Joe Rogan probably supports busing, for one. I just find it hard to believe you could read Townie's post and come away with it that he's in the tank for Rogan/Sanders.

I'm starting to think that the anti-Sanders left is becoming just as insane as the anti-Clinton right. We all need a good boogeyman, but good lord Trump murdered self-awareness in the middle of 5th Avenue.

lol frum

peter daou has been pretty clear the clinton campaign released literally every piece of oppo research they could

the hits that have been released on sanders so far show how small time they really are

it's clear what the trump campaign will do against sanders, paint him as a dangerous socialist with crazy ideas

but what this dumbfuck frum who has been on the wrong side of every major policy failure since he coined "axis of evil" ignores is that people on the whole trust bernie a shitload more than they trust trump, and there's tons of data to support that

I like the guy who said he "saw the republican research on Sanders", and listed everything he saw, as if the Dems wouldn't have done their own opposition research.

speaking of 5th ave - which Dem candidate could safely shoot someone on 5th ave, one wonders

I think before the days of Maddow getting a $10M/year contract we actually had a mainstream left POV going out from Air America and the like. There was at one point room in the conversation for anti-war and leftist social policy takes. Nowadays the media and Dem establishment just exists to sand off the hard edges of the right, to meet them exactly where they are at all times and tsk-tsk when they disrupt norms. To give Trump $750BN on the eave of impeachment. To give Bernie five pinnochios when he says "lots of people have medical debt" when in fact "lots and lots of people have medical debt." And to let Biden just keep tweeting about how progressive he is about LGBT issues with his pro-DOMA vote just sitting out here. The bubble that exists for a lot of comfortable liberals just allows them to scoff at anything outside of the incredibly narrow neoliberal niche they see the world through. It's an in-built bias based on power and privilege and money.

If you actually sit and volunteer for any candidate (and two weekends ago I spent 3 hrs phone banking for Warren and 3 canvassing for Sanders in bumfuck central VA) you'll get to hear stories about why people vote (or don't vote) they way they do, and it's so much more compelling than the same regurgitated, whitewashed trash you get from ChrisL or CNN or NPR.

I'm naive because I believe in something and because if I were as cynical as ChrisL I'd blow my fucking brains out.

I'm sure Joe Rogan would agree with me that it's a much more complicated and nuanced issue than the bumper sticker issue you've repeatedly try to make it on this board.

just gonna put ChrisL on ignore, the wee shithead, better for us all i think

err, um - technically the Viet Cong did pretty poorly against the US in "open warfare". Plenty of evidence that the Tet Offensive was a hail mary that failed tactically and won the war strategically

a hamfisted allusion by Frum, for sure, though.
