Update3: Barr says that the Justice Department's Inspector General is working on reviewing the process used by the FBI to obtain a FISA surveillance warrant on Trump campaign aide Carter Page, and that the IG report will be complete in May or June. Barr also said that he's overseeing a separate wider investigation.

Barr reiterates that Mueller is currently participating in the redaction process, and says the rationale for all redactions will be specifically explicated. Barr says the Report will be issued "within a week," consistent with what he said all along. Another blow to the truthers.

Barr says the DOJ IG is working on a review of FISA process as it relates to Trump/Russia investigation (phony Dossier was cited to obtain warrant on Carter Page.) Says review will be complete in May or June. Barr also overseeing a separate, wider review. Reckoning coming soon.

I'm still waiting for you to walk us through how you believe the FISA process works since you have such strong opinions on whether anyone followed the process correctly.

You haven’t said anything..get back into your corner and grab your cone shaped crown

If you think an investigation is going to reveal not only that the dossier is fake, but also that those citing to it used it knowing that it was fake, I've got a bridge to sell you.

The FISA review process is going to go nowhere. If you understood how the FISA process works in the first place, you'd understand that.

Why would lectro need to understand that? Crazy things like "facts" and "knowledge" and "understanding" and "hygiene" and "knowing how to satisfy a woman" have no place in his world.

Look at all the fear of the FISA..

Afraid to actually find out how it was abused.

Left wing chickens coming home to Roast (sic)

I'm not fearful at all - investigate away. The FISA Court knew that the dossier was, at least, "politically motivated" and do we have any evidence that the government knew that the dossier is fake/false? Simply because events in a document remain(ed) uncorroborated does not mean you have evidence that a) the document does not have other verifiable facts in it or that b) those offering the dossier "knew" that the dossier is false.

lol that dems/libs are afraid of investigations. you pussies have been investigating us for years and you got dick. go fuck yourselves, snowflakes.

how did it only take a day and a half to fully conclude the scope of the report but nearly a month to decide which parts not to divulge?

Show the link please..

You say Judge Contreras (likely) was aware of the spurious nature of the “evidence” being presented to him, that he was aware of the evidence being “politically motivated”?

I’d like to see that.. especially in light of the released testimonies. We know FBI lead counsel Baker pushed back against its use and he (from the extant transcripts) was likely approached by Bruce Ohr. Ohr’s testimony is that he had serious reservations and that he’d become concerned when Fusion’s Glenn Simpson attempted to smear a conservative legal counsel in a seemingly unrelated matter. Anyone validly looking into the “dossier” is pretty quickly able to see it’s spurious origin and subsequent ‘use as abuse’. The fact Simpson felt the need to lie about so many of his interactions with Bruce Ohr (I am more convinced by Ohr’s testimony as bolstered by others’) should compel even a slight interest from any real truth seeker.

Any exercise of un-hindered objectivity would reveal it..but we are not talking “Observation” here..We are talking “Beliefs”.

Beliefs go to the heart and the heart always truncates the truth..It is only when Belief fades that we can truly observe a thing as it is. The truth of the spurious (no better descriptor) dossier is going to make it to the sunlight. Many will approach this light with their hands still shading their brows. But for now..Belief is trumping reason and so Denial we ride.

And again. Whether the dossier is true in its entirety does not establish that the FISA processes featured government abuse.

Applications from 2016 included the background of the dossier and that the person who hired Steele was looking for dirt to discredit Donald’s campaign.

From the NYT https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2018/07/21/us/politics/carter-page-fisa.amp.html

Nowhere is it stated to the court that the dossier is opposition research funded by the Clinton campaign and the DNC.

Release the Mueller Report.. Un-Redacted.

Release Carter Page’s FISA app un-redacted.

Seems fair.

Page 16 of 412 gives the description.

It mentions an unnamed “U.S. Law firm” as initiating the dossier. It at no point reveals the true origin or the ‘reason’ for the firm’s (Perkins Coie) paying for information. It is left then for the FBI compilers of this FISA to say that “the FBI speculates that the reason was for purposes of discrediting a candidate.

Read that last sentence with the understanding that the compilers of the FISA knew the exact origin of the dossier to be the Clinton campaign. You just linked to the subterfuge in black and white.

Do any of you care to explain the FBI’s description of the dossiers origins?

It was to CONCEAL for the purpose of misleading.

for doc guidance:

US law firm —- Clinton, DNC firm Perkins Coie

US citizen — Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson

#1 source — ex-MI6 agent Christopher Steele

In case anyone was looking for a translation of that, lectro is describing the absolute scandal of the FBI hiding the possible bias in the funding source for the dossier by citing the document where the FBI specifically admitted the potential bias of the funding source for the dossier. Breathtaking stuff.
