This is like Clawson's daughter going to Davidson.
It's a good school, close by, and she won't be in the spotlight (for better or worse) during her time there.
Makes sense to me.

Or, she, and Miss Clawson, could have gone to pretty much any school in the world and chose their respective schools based on their merits.
