2020 Democratic Presidential Primary

Pressley has been one of my top choices. Feel free to do a search. Starting to see some Latinas show up in these articles.

Pressley would meet both the criteria. I doubt she’s that well known among most voters but people who know her love her. She would be popular among black voters. She exudes everything suburban white women want to be. Strong, confident, fierce, beautiful. Without a wig she looks like a member of the Dora Milaje. She would be the black girlfriend they want.

Her only problem is lack of experience. She’s a first term House rep.

I mean, when Stacey Abrams's name is being seriously floated being a first term House rep's lack of experience doesn't worry me so much. For whatever reason, the Biden campaign appears to be infatuated with Abrams.

Who are the Latina names that you're hearing? She has virtually no name recognition, but Nanette Barragán (CA 44) kicks ass and could be an interesting pick.

I wasn't seriously floating it.

Michelle Lujan Grisham, NM Gov and the El Paso rep who gave the Spanish language response to the SOTU.

The future of the Dem party is female. The 2018 cycle introduced us to dozens of women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who look like they'll be party leaders for a long time. Abrams has an obvious bright future but she's locked in a red state. To her credit she's not angling for the VP job or a cabinet position, she knows restoring voting rights will unlock her chances in GA. I think she would rather stay with Fair Fight and run against for Gov in a post-Trump climate.

Biden should quit right now. If the writer of the Vagina Monologues isn't for you, any politician is crazy to continue. If the author of Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus comes out for Bernie, Joe should not only drop out of the race but self-quarantine himself for life.

I'll have to look into Grisham. I don't know much about her. Is there anybody that could keep the governor's mansion blue if Grisham were to join Biden?

I'm pumped for Abrams's eventual run for governor. As we've discussed, I wish 2020 rising stars like Buttigieg, O'Rourke, Castro etc. showed a similar desire/fortitude to transform red state governance. Ground game and a resonant message could go a long way in post-Trump red states. Unfortunately, it looks like these guys are angling for cabinet positions or to become the next Tom Perez.

The NM Lt. Gov is a Dem.

I'm not gonna lie. I kind of hate that Dems are doing stuff like this right now (also Warren on SNL). I get that it appeals to mouth breathers and "electability" nuts, and in theory could push the message to a wider audience, but the stakes seem a bit high to be cracking jokes on TV.

As an aside, it's also kind of shocking to me how much Kimmel's image has been sanitized. Dude was Joe Rogan while Joe Rogan was still hosting reality television. I doubt there will be a similar level of outrage, though.

and coincidentally, you had Rogan replace him on The Man Show

I definitely see where you're coming from. But that type of stuff "humanizes" candidates. McCain, Obama, Trump, and I think Hillary did SNL during the election. McCain and Cindy had one of the funniest sketches with Fey's Palin. McCain and Trump actually hosted SNL.

The Man Show = JRE, is quite possibly the dumbest thing posted on this thread.

Clinton played the sax on TV!!!!!

Rumor of Warren to be Biden's Secretary of Treasury. That would open her seat for Joe Kennedy.
