Likely NCAAT or bust.

So, if Danny wins 5 straight tourney games to garner the ACCT Champ automatic bid, he gets to keep his job.

Why? That clearly has not been the measuring stick up until this point, why would it change now? Manning will be back another year. Our AD has already shown he is a pussy.

Obvious confusion between the retired former AD and the current one. Summer or very late spring coaching changes rarely go well.

Nothing about our basketball program has gone well for over a decade. Being afraid of ending an unmitigated disaster out of fear that it might not end up in perfection is an idiotic mentality and a cop out.

So you are genuinely holding it against Currie that he didn't come in and fire Manning in May after our athletic department had already publicly announced that Manning would be returning another season? And based on that you're making the assumption that there's no chance Danny will be fired this spring?

Maybe Currie wanted to fire Manning when he came in, but the donors weren't willing to pay the buyout at a point in time when all the best candidates already had jobs. What's the point of firing Manning when there's nobody we could have reasonably hired that could have actually turned the program around? If he doesn't fire him in the next month, call him whatever names you want, but give the man a chance to actually do something when he has a reasonable chance to first.

IMHO, waiting a year was probably for the better. There are less openings and more candidates this year.

He will never be fired. Buckle up for a lifetime appointment of paint touches and win stacking!!

So much this. Leyritz's take on this is awful.

Fired

I have a feeling he just may retire after this season. His body language is a mixture of boredom and stupor.

Danny??? Yes, it's a metaphor...that's for the loons...

If the guy had ANY competitor left in him, he would take a buy out for either less, or spread over several years, and resign strictly for whatever pride he has left.

I'm not sure I see this as a change for this season. He's been pretty stoic his whole time at Wake.
