Really Tired of Our O

Dabo took his foot off the gas. It easily could have been another 55-6 type score.

Two years ago he took his foot off the gas and the backup RBs just keep scoring long TDs.

Yeah, Dabo didn't take his foot off the gas; we just played better against their backups this time. Clemson threw deep with under 5 minutes left, and one of the Deacs' scores was set up by a pick. Clemson wanted to score more points; they just couldn't do it with their starters off the field. The last two years, WF could not stop their 2nd and 3rd stringers (or 4th stringers in 2018). Unless keeping your foot on the gas is playing Lawrence and Etienne for 4 quarters (which was never going to happen against any opponent when Clemson is up 4+ scores in the 2nd half, particularly in the opener), Clemson did not take their foot off the gas.

It has become very difficult for me to watch our offense. Comparing it to a Clemson team which could have shellaced us drawing plays in the dirt, they ran 3 times the variety of plays compared to us. QB option wide ( 2 TDs and a 1st down), double reverse in the backfield, pitch outs, screens, draws, etc.

I have no problem with the RPO as the staple O, but it is high time for it to have incorporated more variation and nuanced options.

Pretty crappy take here.

Spot on - The "Dabo taking his foot of the gas" is bullshit revisionist history even though he and Clawson are closer than many other coaches in the conference.

Our 2's and 3's just played on the level with, and in some cases better than, Clemson's backups.

And will need to rewatch the film due to my bourbon induced state but pretty sure Clawson pulled Hartman prior to Dabo taking out Lawrence.
