Shiiiiiit. Just finished watching the documentary "The Art Of The Steal". It's about the Barnes Collection of post-impressionist stuff in suburban Philly which is getting moved, entirely against the wishes of its original collector, because of politicians and money in Philadelphia.

Man, fuck Philadelphia. That's what I learned.

Yea, definitely a slow night on the chat thread. I guess it's late for you eastern time people though.

Listening to Cloud Nothings radio on last.fm after Townie bringing them up this morning. Good stuff.

There was an interesting, to me, story the other day about a piece of artwork that featured a stuffed bald eagle. Since it is illegal to sell a stuffed bald eagle the family declared its value as $0 and had several appraisers agree that it was worthless since you couldn't legally sell it.

The IRS disagreed and gave it a fair market value of $65MM so it hit them with a $29MM tax in addition to an $11MM fine. Obviously, the family challenged it and recently settled the case. As part of the settlement they were required to donate the piece of art to MoMA.

Heh I used to work for Pew who was a big factor in the move. Didn't even really know of their involvement until the moie came out. The CEO is a tyrant so it was hilarious watching the film. A few of us saw the movie and decided to "take a trip up to the Philly office" aka go see the collection at its original spot. It is absolutely incredible.

Oh damn my gf's parents were raising a stink about that.

Super Mung Bros.

We went bowling last night and the place had $2 PBR tallboys. Then we had a bet on the last game and the winner chose that we all had to do fuckin Bacardi shots.

Feels like Satan shat in my brain.

Bacardi shots? No thanks. I can shoot whiskey all day and night, but just thinking about a shot of Bacardi sends shivers down my body.

I'm pretty sure I read a case about this in Wills, Trusts & Estates.

Last weekend my friend did a throwback to college bought a bottle of Burnetts. The problem was that it was unflavored. We all stared at him, nobody drank it all night while we watched Tommy Wiseau's classic "The Room" and afterwards everyone told him to drink it since he was calling us out for not. The bottle remained unopened and if I go there tonight I'm definitely going to see if someone drank it.
