As I reviewed the landscape of college basketball, the candidates in whom I am most interested are still available. None of them have gone anywhere else, so there was no urgency. I wanted to make the best decision possible. And that took time. Obviously, I've been away from campus quite a bit the last four weeks as well. On one hand, that prevented us from making a quicker decision, possibly. On the other hand, it gave me the opportunity to really devote the time to this decision that I felt was necessary.

The N&R did not address this issue with the Strattons until at least Thursday (and that's coming from the N&R response). The N&R is saying the Strattons could have cancelled without penalty; this is after they had run the 1st ad of a campaign that the Strattons had funded upfront for all 4 (with placement details attached to each ad).

This is absolute bullshit. The N&R needs to get their ass handed to them on this. Hoping some attorneys here can offer some help.

I think it's interesting that you can pay up front and there's a deadline for payment but that they say there is no acceptance until the ad is run. This removes nearly any liability on the newspaper doesn't it?
 
Seriously, is there any doubt someone put the screws to the N&R and got them to change the location of the ad?
