I really wish Ron would buck up and give the fans some sort of minimum requirement or baseline for what he feels will continue to be a "successful season" next year.

If he thinks 8-10 and 15 overall wins is going to suffice, it would be nice to know that.

If he thinks maintaining overall or conference win totals is enough, then say that....it's going to suck if/when Buzz has a marginally better season next year (like seriously, 1-2 more wins) and Ron views this as "progress" or a "success".

Having a line drawn that Buzz has to reach gives everyone some idea of what to expect....fans sitting at home completely unsure of whether the shit job Buzz does next year is considered an achievement in the eyes of Ron will only make people more apathetic.

I just hope it's clear one way or the other....either Buzz gets us approaching 20 wins, or he backslides....either one of those results will be obvious what the choice next year will be.

Any other result and it's going to be miserable

It's actually six parts. Don't overlook the last two.

Well obviously his expectations for this season were less than 13 wins since somewhere I saw where dummy Wellmman said Bzzzzz exceeded his expectations this season.

Lost in some of this discussion has been what I gather is the consensus around here: with the loss of CJ we are going to be worse, right?

Hard to see us being much better without CJ. Bzzz is in a great position next year, built in excuse if we're worse, but will get high praise from Wellman if we're any better since it would be without CJ and it would slow how this years freshman have grown under Bzzz. At least that would be wellmans version anyway.

Dangerous for RW to specify a certain number of games as a signal for "success". If the players were to know that winning one more game next season means bzzz stays....

Just sayin'.

In case any of you hysterics have missed it, all is well with Wake basketball. Better yet, it is looking forward to a great future based on the excellent foundation that is being laid even as you read these words. And Oh yes, and Jeff [Redacted] is perfect for Wake Forest.

I for one, feel a lot better. On another, unrelated note, I am a goddam idiot.

I know it's a random thought but I really would like to see what Grobe thinks of all this. Although he would probably BS his answers like wellman did, I bet he is laughin at all of this...
He could also use this against wellman later by saying "you retained bzzz when he was 30-60, no way you can fire me, I actually need a raise"

MTOW: So you don’t see the need for more “pizzazz?’’

RW: No, I could name you many coaches who are in the Top 25 who have less pizzazz than our coach. But they win, and as a result of that their arenas are packed and everybody loves them. So what we need to do is win with the values of this university.

Really, Ron? The word was 'pizzazz', not 'pizza'.

By the [Redacted] standard most people deserve a huge raise, most especially incompetent people. It used to be the peter principle, where people are promoted based on their competence to a level where they are incompetent. Now, Ron Wellman has invented the [Redacted] Principle, where people are promoted based on their incompetence to a level beyond mere incompetence to destructive incompetence.

Take 3 - Way to go Dan... Although you should have followed up with something like, "Are you tracking how many free tickets you have to give away to get that improved attendance?"

RW: Well if you look at our attendance this year, it was up.

MTOW: Was it?

Kudos to Dan for going straight at Wellman. He was professional and respectful but direct. Punches were not pulled. Note the way he pressed the question on attendance after Ron said it was up. I imagined a cynical, cocked eyebrow when he asked about attendance twice. Alll in all, a very good job by Dan Collins.
