This just in: the war on pot is incredibly racist and expensive

Legalize every minority crime or make every crime legal for minorities...only way to avoid racism.

lol. Pot possession is a minority crime? Did you see the numbers earlier? White people smoke way more.

this post drips in racism....behind its hamhanded sarcasm.

Maybe if we put away as high a percentage of white people who smoke and possess pot as the minority people woh do, you'd be bitching about that.

There's no question drugs are enforced unfairly due to the race of the user.

Or, perhaps those who pontificate about racism could actually spend their time working with minorities to enable them out of their misery. The charge of racism against others is often an attempt to pacify one's conscience for doing little or nothing to help minorities. Racism is a hateful and ugly evil. Inaction to help minorities while preaching against racism is sheer hypocrisy.

OK, fire away.

Only black people smoke pot

dude, can't you read?

the way weed laws are enforced are clearly racist.

We're losing the war on drugs ... just like Wake is losing under Bzdelic, amirite?

Who are you talking about? Those are bold accusations to make without someone in mind.

I understand that. And that is wrong. But the deeper issue is that there is a serious drug problem in too many minority communities. Correcting the enforcement problem is right; but it will not solve the real problem that exists.

Is it possible that some want the problem resolved by legalizing pot so they can use without jeopardy and they could not care less about minorities? Is that possible?

I won't take the easy shot, but many here know of what I've done throughout my life to combat this problem.

Your post was patronizing and dripped in racism and you did so intentionally.

If you want to try again, I won't hold back.

Sorry. I did not mean for it to come across as a personal attack.

Someone residing in Mebane, North Carolina is racist, let me get out my shocked face.

I hate racism more than you can imagine. But I also hate using "racism" as a pretext for advancing an agenda that cares almost nothing for the actual well-being of minorities.

This is a discussion board. I can make general accusations without having anyone here in mind.

And I can ask you about it.

So what are you doing to help black people not get arrested for marijuana possession?

Ban alcohol.

Why shouldn't they use marijuana?

And are you also worried about the white people using marijuana?

Next thing you know white people will be smelling cocaine...

When one group does a crime much more often than another group both by percentage of that group and by raw numbers, yet several times as many people in the smaller group go to jail, unfairness and racism is the logical reason.
